Area “A” Gas Management Programme in Angola to eliminate routine flaring

For Cabinda Gulf Oil Company, a Chevron affiliate, we are providing project management, engineering, procurement, and construction support services for the Area “A” Gas Management Programme to eliminate routine gas flaring in key Angolan developments, both onshore and offshore.

In a related effort, the programme included fast-track engineering and installation of high-pressure injection facilities, pipelines, and a wellhead platform to support the start-up and operation of new facilities for the offshore Benguela-Belize-Lobito-Tomboco fields.

For the new Takula Gas Processing Platform, we provided detailed engineering and procurement services directly to Samsung Heavy Industries, a South Korean fabricator. A significant portion of the platform foundation and offshore programme works was fabricated in various yard locations throughout Angola.

Our Angola office ably supported the programme on the new platform and offshore work scopes by deploying engineering personnel in Houston, Luanda, and at offshore field locations.

  • Our offices in Houston and Angola have worked a total of more than one million man-hours incident and injury-free on the project
  • The customer has specifically recognised the outstanding performance of a significant portion of the more than 600 of our employees who have participated in the programme
